Our 30% Club UK Investor Group has just published its 2025/6 report. It’s a candid, data-rich look at what collaborative investor action can achieve.
The Group brings together UK asset owners, asset managers and investment intermediaries who share an interest in seeing stronger gender and ethnic diversity in company leadershipto use their collective influence. The work is driven by a straightforward premise: diverse, inclusive boards and executive teams make for stronger decision-making and better long-term performance.
The headlines from the report:
📈 Women now hold 44.4% of FTSE 100 board seats, and 98 of 100 FTSE 100 boards include a director from an ethnic minority background. This is real progress since the Club’s founding in 2010, when women held under 12% of board roles.
🎯 But the pipeline beneath the boardroom tells a different story. Women’s representation on FTSE 100 executive committees has risen from 25.9% to 33.3% since 2021. A steady increase, but still far from parity. And at the very top, no FTSE 100 CEO is currently a woman from an ethnic minority background.
🤝 Through our “Fix the Exec” engagement programme, the Investor Group wrote to 24 FTSE 100 laggard companies on executive-level diversity. Nine showed encouraging early signs of progress, but nine were unresponsive. This is a reminder that sustained pressure still matters.
Looking ahead, our Investor Group has set new 2035 targets, deepened collaboration with 30% Club investor chapters internationally, and is preparing new research into the intersection of gender and ethnicity in leadership.
Thank you to our co-chairs Diandra Soobiah and Sachi Suzuki, and to every investor member who continues to show up for this work.
