Velesto Hosts Board CV Writing Masterclass with 30% Club Malaysia

Velesto Energy Berhad, in collaboration with 30% Club Malaysia, recently hosted a Board CV Writing Masterclass at the Velesto Academy in Kuala Lumpur. The session brought together 11 participants, including current mentees from the 30% Club Malaysia Board Mentoring Scheme.

The session opened with an introduction by Shireen Iqbal, Steering Committee member of 30% Club Malaysia, followed by a warm welcome from Megat Zariman Abdul Rahim, President and Executive Director of Velesto.

The masterclass was led by Raj Kumar Paramanathan, Steering Committee member of 30% Club Malaysia and Managing Partner of CnetG Asia, who emphasised the importance of a well-crafted board profile in positioning mentees as strong candidates within an increasingly competitive pool of board-ready professionals.

Key takeaways from the session included:
a) Understanding the differences between a board-ready CV and an executive CV

b) Strategies to effectively articulate expertise, strengths, gaps, and personal purpose

c) The importance of reflection and intentional crafting to create a CV that resonates with board recruiters

Participants also engaged in interactive discussions, sharing challenges and exchanging ideas to strengthen their CVs. The session provided a valuable opportunity for mentees to gain practical guidance and peer insights, equipping them with greater confidence as they pursue board opportunities.
