30% Malaysia 2023 Report Card

As the year draws to a close, we’re proud to share our 2023 Report Card – a year of progress, partnership and purpose.

Working with our strategic partners and a growing network of corporate and individual advocates has been a privilege. We’re grateful for the trust placed in us as a driving force on the journey toward more inclusive leadership and stronger boardroom representation.

In 2023, we shifted into high gear:

  • Welcoming 16 new Corporate Advocates, bringing the total to 64
  • Celebrating a national milestone: the top 100 PLCs on Bursa Malaysia achieved 30% women on boards
  • Launching impactful initiatives with PwC, Deloitte, Microsoft, MDEC and Heriot-Watt University to strengthen the pipeline of board-ready women
  • Leading DEI conversations across the region, including at the OECD-Asia Roundtable on Corporate Governance

As Dato’ Ami Moris, Chair of 30% Club Malaysia, reflects: “Our true achievements have been about our advocates being invested in the business case of DEI.”

And in the words of Hanneke Smits, CEO of BNY Mellon Investment Management and Global Chair, 30% Club: “I believe I have a responsibility to create a more inclusive environment, not only for the people I’m working with today, but also for future generations.”

We also saw increased media visibility, a growing mentoring community, and more companies stepping forward to walk the talk on diversity and inclusion.

Here’s to greater impact, deeper collaboration and new milestones in 2024.
