30% Club announces new leadership team reflecting the initiative’s growing scope and success around

Brenda Trenowden, Head of Financial Institutions Europe, ANZ, to assume day-to-day leadership of 30% Club’s activities

The 30% Club is announcing a new organisational structure, reflecting the increased reach and scale of campaign since its launch in the UK five years ago.

Helena Morrissey, Founder of the 30% Club said: ‘With 30% Clubs now in Hong Kong, Ireland, the US, Australia, Southern Africa and soon to be launched in Malaysia, Canada, Italy and the Gulf Cooperation Countries, it’s time for a broader team to lead and manage activities. In the fourth quarter of last year, we put a structure of work streams in place, each focused on one aspect of the work from schoolroom to boardroom – as well as country leads. It’s now time for a further evolution and I am delighted that Brenda Trenowden, who has worked with me and the UK Steering Committee since the very start, has agreed to take on a leadership role, managing the Club’s activities on a day-to-day basis.

I remain involved as founder, advisor and spokesperson and look forward to working with Brenda as we move to the next exciting stage. We’ve seen a dramatic shift in the mindset around the issue of gender balance in the UK over the past few years thanks in great part to the leadership of top business men and women who are the members of the Club and to the dedication of a fantastic steering committee. There’s more to do, of course, particularly as the 30% Club’s approach spreads globally and Brenda’s expanded role fills me with great confidence’

Brenda Trenowden said: ‘I’m very pleased with what we have managed to achieve to date in the UK both in terms of increased Board roles and all of the pipeline initiatives and I’m looking forward to stepping up to take a bigger role, working with the steering committee and with Helena to fully embed these initiatives and build out our international footprint’
