The 30% Club Hong Kong (30% Club HK) and The Women’s Foundation (TWF) have released a video featuring some of Hong Kong’s most prominent women business leaders to highlight the lack of gender diversity on Hong Kong boards. The video echoes Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam’s annual policy address last month that included a strong call for all Hong Kong listed companies to appoint more women on their boards. In Hong Kong, women represent only 13% of directors for Hang Seng Index companies and around one in three listed companies have all-male boards.
The 30% Club HK today announced that Ms. Irene Lee, Executive Chairman of Hysan Development Company Limited, will be taking up the Chair of the 30% Club HK. She will lead the drive to advancing women leaders on corporate boards in Hong Kong.
30% Club HK announces progress in interim goals “No Zeros by 2018” and “20% by 2020” and urges Hong Kong to strengthen requirements on Gender Diversity of Boards
