The 30% Club Goes Global

The need for better gender balance has never been just a UK issue, but a global one. The business benefits of gender diversity do not change with geography, and it is with this in mind that The 30% Club is hugely excited to announce that we are going global! Our international expansion began in March 2013 when we launched in Hong Kong with 41 founding local Chairman, but the momentum has continued at a spectacular rate since then. A Southern Africa 30% Club is expected to be launched soon, with further Clubs planned in the US, Canada and Ireland later this year. At our first Global Summit in London today ‘Catalysing Global Change’ our audience contained representatives from around the world including the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, France, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, Hong Kong, the US, Canada and Ireland, so we are very optimistic that The 30% Club has begun to create the impetus for global change.

Of course, if we focus solely on the number of women in boardrooms then we would not be creating an environment for sustainable, meaningful change. The executive pipeline requires its own focus.

It is with this in mind that The 30% Club is delighted to announce a new fully funded Executive MBA Scholarship in partnership with Henley Business School. The Henley Business School & The 30% Club Women in Leadership Scholarship, in association with The Financial Times, is in support of our Balancing the Pyramid initiative. We hope this will be just another of the many concrete steps The 30% Club will take to increase gender balance, not just in the UK but all over the world.
